Instructors will be in the water with the kids. Coach Knapp feels this is missing in swim programs and really big on physics and technique. Coach Knapp wants to give quality coaching that honors the kids' physical bodies and sets them up to be efficient and maximize potential.

Coaches
Head Coach  Denean Knapp (405-777-3795) - Coach Knapp was an All-American swimmer for Texas A&M. She held the Oklahoma state record in both the 50 and 100 freestyle for 13 years.
- Denean coached the Master's swim team for Texas A&M, and coached high school swimming for Edmond Santa Fe, under legendary Steve Riggs, for four years.

- Denean started teaching swim lessons in her backyard at age 13, and has now been teaching and coaching for over 35 years. She graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Community Health, and went on to graduate with a degree in Occupational Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch.

- Coach Knapp started THERAFISH INC. in 2000 in Austin, Texas, and designed her program around helping children with special needs while applying the Sensory Integration theory. She found that her method and sequence was a great way to break down the foundational skills of swimming and teach people to swim by "feel and not force." She has taught people of all abilities and all ages to swim. She currently operates THERAFISH out of the Oklahoma Christian pool, and is training college swimmers to teach her method. Coach is passionate about physics and technique, and feels that this is often missing in swimming programs. "It's so important to remember that athletes will someday be adults who don't play competitive sports. Swimming by 'feel not force,' is what prevents injury and pain caused by repetitive movement."

- Denean also has a company called RELEASE THERAPY, where she practices Craniosacral Manual Therapy and treats all ages for alignment, range of motion, and pain management and prevention. Coach Knapp is so excited to partner with OKC STORM to bring competitive swimming to homeschool and small private school kids.

Assistant Coach Gabriel Knaut - is originally from Curitiba, Brazil and moved to the United States to swim in College. He recently graduated from University of Indianapolis, where he got a degree in Business Management and made a career in swimming. Gabe’s best races are 50 and 100 freestyle, even though he enjoys swimming all the strokes. His passion for coaching started during college years, where he taught individual swim lessons and later on started a swim club and raised it to a competitive level. He was also the Head Coach for Bridgewater country club in Indianapolis, IN, where they got second place in their conference meet. Gabe now swims at Oklahoma Christian University as he pursues his MBA in Project Management. I've done multiple private swim lessons throughout my college career which amounts to more than 40 different people I worked with, from 2 years old until 19 y/o.  In my senior year in college, I started a club on campus for people to learn how to swim and/or improve their techniques -- the club reached 30 swimmers. We went to swim meets and had a great overall improvement in performance.

Assistants Coach - Madison Coskey
Assistant Coach - Justin Gilliam

We will contact some of the public/private school coaches, and see if we might be able to jump in on some of those meets in the second semester. Coach Knapp will offer additional clinics and private and semi-private lessons through her company and would like to start a Summer club team. You can call or text her at 405-777-3795
